Duncan Appleby


Duncan Appleby is a director and coach with 25 years of choral experience. He has sung in many different chamber and cathedral choirs, taking part in concerts, services, recordings and broadcasts. While studying in Birmingham Conservatoire he competed for four years with a barbershop chorus (Anvil Chorus) and also in the quartet Cadence. He completed a Master's degree in Piano Accompaniment at the Royal College of Music in 2016, and was Head of Keyboard at St Catherine's School, Bramley, for three years.

The role of Chorus director is primarily to improve our singing and performance. He devises and delivers a programme of club evening rehearsals and educational sessions, as well as directing the Chorus in many of our performances. He plays an active role in the administration of the Club working with the various committees, especially the Music Leadership Team on the selection of new music.
