The Membership Secretary is the first point of contact for new club members. His remit spans recruitment, introduction and coordination of training of new members, retention and GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) compliance.
The Public Relations Officer's (PRO) remit includes marketing advertising, social media, branding etc and he works closely with his team and with the membership secretary to recruit and retain members, and also supports the bookings secretary in identifying potential audiences for concerts and singouts.
The Bookings Secretary arranges performances (aka. Sing-outs) with our audiences, negotiates the fee with the client, and checks that we have sufficient singers for each occasion and communicates the details to the Chorus members. He liaises with the Chorus Director and Music committee to select the song list from the current repertoire for each sing-out.
The club's Treasurer ensures sound management of the income and expenditure of the Club. Additionally he plays a prominent role in guiding us on the financial impact of decisions we make for the future of the club, and also deals with securing music copyright.
The Uniformas Secretary is the go-to guy for branded uniform items required to be worn for our singouts and concerts. He will be very keen to know your head-size and chest measurement. He's not at all interested in your inside-leg measurement as you will be expected to buy your own black trousers from a reputable retailer.
The website coordinator is your first line of support for your login account and access to the club's website, which is the main communication medium for the clubs activities and musical resources. All sheet music and audio-teacher tracks for the clubs repertoire are available to stream or download, subject to copyright rules that these are for personal use only.
The role of Chorus director is primarily to improve our singing and performance. He devises and delivers a programme of club evening rehearsals and educational sessions, as well as directing the Chorus in many of our performances. He plays an active role in the administration of the Club working with the various committees, especially the Music Committee on the selection of new music.
